A post that you should read.

As you can tell, this South American air is stimulating my creativity to name posts.

Alright. So, if you've been following, you know that I had built up this grandiose idea of moving to a foreign country to leave the banality of life in Arlington. As a consequence, the shining idol of my dreams came crashing down when I arrived in Buenos Aires. However, you also know, that when I arrive in Santiago, I started Spanish classes last minute with the intent to stay for four weeks. Well, I now present to you split-second decision number two. Today was my fourth class at the TEFL Academy. Yes, that would be the class that I cancelled when I prematurely judged my reaction to Santiago. It's a fairly tedious story to tell, so I won't indulge you on all the "he said" then "she said" then "I said" details. However, I was allowed to start the TEFL class a day late.

My current situation: Living with a host family, taking early morning private lessons at the Spanish school, and then completing my TEFL class during the day.

I can't wait to see what waits around the corner... hopefully, not a drunken hobo with a rusty blade. But in all seriousness, everyday always holds some new challenge.

Ciao!

Wait....this post is confusing? Are you in Santiago or not? Let me know if there's anything I can help you out with!

Bahaha love the picture. Did you have nightmares from that movie? Because man, I did. Barely slept. Silly freakish Natalie Portman!

No nightmares, but I jumped and yelled when the wind blew my bedroom door shut! haha.

I have also been guilty of prematurely judging a situation in Santiago. Cough hence my most recent post cough. I'm glad you are sticking it out!

Me too! I'm glad I'm staying here. I just think about how unhappy I would be to go back.

I think everyone at some point goes through the shock treatment when you arrive in a foreign country and realize that it's not quite as you imagined it. Though I had it easier than most since I have family here.

Take it one day at a time, or else you will be overwhelmed quickly! I sincerely wish you the best! And if you need anything, just remember I'm running around this crazy city too!

Thanks! Yes, one day at a time is definitely the way to think about. I'm loving that I'm challenged everyday!
